Obituary for KATY LEA HARVILL

KATY LEA HARVILL, age 81, Nixa, Missouri, passed away Thursday, august 9, 2018. She was born August 11, 1936 in Stone County, Missouri, the daughter of Emory Clemond and Mary Louretta (Keithley) Maples. She was united in marriage to James Edward Harvill on March 1, 1952. They have made their home in Nixa since 1957.

Katy enjoyed caring for her family, working in her garden and yard and watching deer that ventured onto their property. Most of all, her grand and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

Katy was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Michael "Judge" Harvill; a daughter, Vera Diane Harvill; her parents; three brothers, Freddie, Chester, and Keith Maples; and a sister, June Hamilton. Her survivors include her husband, Jim; her daughter, Patricia Darlene Downing; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; three brothers, Wilford Maples, Aubrey Maples, and Steven Maples; six sisters, Virginia Rogers, Sylvia Fleetwood, Janice Kee, Nelda Williams, Dixie Soutee, and Tonya Keithley; other relatives and many friends.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018, in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever Chapel. Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery, south of Clever. Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, August 13th, also in the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Union Ridge Cemetery.
