Obituary for SHELLEY ELIZABETH SOWDER

On Friday, April 13, 2018, Shelley Elizabeth “Nonnie” Sowder, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly at home, at the age of 53 years. Shelley was born in Springfield, Missouri, on February 25, 1965.

Shelley lived in the Republic, Missouri area her entire life and graduated from Republic High School in 1983.

Shelley received the most joy in her life from spending time with her family and friends. Shelley loved interior decorating, fashion and style. She was an amazing thrifty shopper, always looking for the best bargain, and could negotiate her way in and out of any sale.

Shelley is survived by her parents, Calvin and Sandra (Agee) Sowder; her son, Joshua Quessenberry and his wife Taryn; her daughter, Jesseca (Quessenberry) Clark and her husband Aaron; a brother, Jeffrey Sowder and his wife Marie; a brother, Craig Sowder; and her long-time partner and dear friend, Dusty Hanafin. Shelley will always be loved and remembered by her precious grandchildren, Kennedy and Jordin Quessenberry, and Libby and Kamron Clark; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation in Shelley’s honor will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. A private family burial will follow the visitation, in Wade Chapel Cemetery, Republic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your consideration for donations to be made to Meadors Funeral Home to help with the cost of services. Family and friends may share online condolences on this website, at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
