LEE ROY WILSON Wednesday, February 10, 1937 - Thursday, September 7, 2017

Mr. Lee Roy Wilson, age 80, Clever, Missouri, passed away early Thursday, September 07, 2017, in his home, with family at his side. He was born February 10, 1937, in Stone County, Missouri, the son of J.W. and Jency Geneva (Robinson) Wilson. He was a U.S. Marine veteran.

Lee Roy and Barbara Lindsay were united in marriage on January 21, 1966. They have made their home and raised their two sons, on a farm south of Clever. They have been longtime active members of the Clever First Baptist Church.

During his adult lifetime Lee Roy has played Triple A fastball for Poindexter and was active in coaching his boys’ basketball and baseball teams. He was an avid Clever Blue Jays fan; and loved to hunt and fish. He has worked in various construction areas, as well as doing what he loved, working his farm and raising cattle. A dedicated and hardworking husband and dad, he had a strong work ethic and passed that on to his sons.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Wilson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara; two sons and their wives, Alan and Jennifer Wilson, Clever, and Brian and Jana Wilson, Hollister, Missouri; three grandchildren, Bryce Wilson and wife Mikayla, Springfield, Missouri, Audrey Wilson, Clever, and Addison Wilson, Hollister; other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be a visitation held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017, in Meadors Funeral Home, 304 E. Drive Street, Clever. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 11th in the Clever First Baptist Church, 219 W. Brown St., Clever, under the care of Meadors Funeral Home, Clever.
