Sometimes we get so busy in our lives, we become blind to the struggles of those closest to us.  We see them putting up the "good fight" and we hear them say "I'm fine," but deep down they are tired, tired of fighting. Yesterday, August 23, 2017, one of the bravest men we know, understandably, got tired of fighting.  My stepfather, Matt's dad, the kids "Papa Stan," and our Mom's husbnad, Stan Singleton, went to where he is pain free, the beer is overflowing, and the scratch offs are aplenty.  For months, he has worked when he was able and every few hours, made sure he was home to administer his dialysis treatments. He remained a smart ass whenever possible and told jokes only he thought were funny.  He was amazing on the grill smoker.  He never ate until everyone else had a plate and then he'd joke that the rest was for him (lol).  He was my handyman.  He taught Matt how to provide for himself and he loved the most amazing woman we know, our Mother. We are thankful for every day he fought to live! Rest in Peace, Dad, aka Papa Stan!  We love you always!
