Obituary for BETTY JEAN EBERT

Mrs. Betty Jean Ebert, age 73, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 in The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek, Springfield, Missouri. She was born on June 16, 1945 in Lawrence County, Missouri, the son of Emil and Edna (Roethemeier) Meyer, whom precede her in death.

Betty married Jack Ebert on June 25, 1966 and shared 52 years together. During this marriage, they were blessed with two children.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education at Southwest Missouri State University in 1967. She taught Home Economics for 25 years at Marionville High School, and prior to that, Betty taught at Study Middle School in Springfield and Mt. Vernon High School.

Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards with friends, traveling and most importantly, spending time with her three granddaughters.

She was preceded in her death by her parents; and a brother, Charles Meyer.

Betty is survived by her husband, Jack; a daughter and her husband, Michele and David Holt; a son and his wife, Justin and Rebecca Ebert; three granddaughters, Madison and Campbell Holt and Callie Ebert; brother, Kenneth Meyer; sister, Stella (Charles) Pitts.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M., with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 A.M., both in the United Methodist Church in Marionville, Missouri, under the care of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Missouri. According to Betty's wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
