Obituary for DONNIE LEE CAIN, SR.

Mr. Donnie Lee Cain, Sr., age 86, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the Maple Wood Alzheimer Special Care Center, Springfield, Missouri. He was born a child of 14 siblings, on February 4, 1933 in Coin, Iowa, the son of Clyde Earl and Jemima Ellen (Roberts) Cain.

Donnie was united in marriage to Barbara Roberts on January 9, 1956.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, beginning in 1957, and retiring in 1972.

He loved to gamble; loved to be tinkering in his shop; and loved to play the banjo, guitar, and fiddle.

Donnie was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; a son, Robert Bruce Cain; two grandchildren; and 12 siblings.

He is survived by four children, Donnie Jr. (Marlene), David (Vickie), Jonnie` (Kevin), and Ellen; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Robert; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
