Apolonia “Lola” Tallerico, 98, of Republic, Missouri and formerly of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 after a short illness. She was born September 7, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Angelina (Spoto) Interrante.

She worked for Meyer’s Drug store for many years. She also was a receptionist for Dr. Edward Mladick, and the office of Kenneth Shively, M.D. She loved to be around people and go out dancing. Lola and her husband started the 40 and Over Dance Club in LaPorte, which ran for 14 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Wayne) Kemker, of Henderson, Nevada; a son, James (Rosalie) Tallerico, of Republic, Missouri; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; and three brothers.

She will be viewed at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Missouri, on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. where a rosary, at 6 p.m., will be said. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Billings, Missouri. She will later be buried in Henderson, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lola’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
