Obituary for MARGARET A. FRY

Mrs. Margaret A. Fry, age 73, of Republic, Missouri, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, February 1, 2018, after a courageous four and a half year battle with cancer. She was born on December 31, 1944, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Ted and Margaret (Pfitzner) Verfurth.

Margaret was united in marriage to James L. “Jim” Fry on August 31, 1973.

She was a graduate of St. Agnes High School, class of 1962; and faithfully worked for Mercy (St. John’s) Hospital in Springfield for 45 years.

Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, along with the love and prayers of family and friends gave her the strength she needed to persevere. She is and will always be loved by the many lives she touched through her positive outlook in life and strong personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sibling, Jackie Verfurth.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim, of the home; two children, Brian Fry, and Ashley (Kevin) McGill, all of Springfield; a grandchild, Maggie McGill, Springfield; three brothers, Jim (Arlene) Verfurth, Billings, Missouri, Ted (Alice) Verfurth, and Jerry (Kay) Verfurth, all of Springfield; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., on Friday, February 16, 2018, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic Chapel. A Mass of Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Billings. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Billings. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Billings, The Kitchen, Springfield, or to CARE Animal Rescue, Springfield.
