Mr. John Carr Holman, age 50, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on May 20, 1967 in Monett, Missouri, the son of Jerry Carroll and Judy Ann (Lyall) Holman.

John graduated from Republic High School, Republic, Missouri, in 1985, and was lovingly known as “Homer” to his classmates. As a young boy and teenager John played baseball and basketball. In recent years he played softball for different leagues, however, due to a severe eye injury, he was not able to play anymore. John was a proud father, and especially loved spending time with his son, Jayce. John was a big Dallas Cowboy fan, and he also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.

John worked several years as an electrician; and also for a fencing company out of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Justine Holman; his dad, Jerry; a brother, Jimmy Moore; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

John is survived by his son, Jayce Cooper Holman; his mother, Judy Ann Creech; and two sisters, Chanda Smith and Shelly Meltabarger; two nephews, Tatyn and Jake; a niece, Jemma; and many other family members and friends who loved and cared about John.

The family of John would personally like to thank each and every one that donated money. Also to the people that had the benefit and raised money, thank you very much. John had so many people that cared and loved him. We would also like to thank everybody that called; texted; sent food or supplies; came by; and most importantly, prayed during this difficult time of losing our loved one. John was loved very much by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Following the visitation, burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic. Family and friends may share online condolences on this website, at
