Obituary for JAMES "J.B." CONRAD

Mr. James Buren “J.B.” Conrad, age 73, of Hurley, Missouri, passed away in his home, with family and friends at his side, on Monday, March 26, 2018. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Waynesville, Missouri, the son of Roy Edgar and Mina Lavada “Vada” (Wilson) Conrad.

J.B. was united in marriage to Sondra Lee Gold on June 30, 1961 enjoying 56 years of marriage. Together they raised their two children, Allen and Susie, in Hurley. James was employed and retired as a custodian for the Hurley Public School System.

J.B. attended Wrights Chapel for over 50 years where he taught Sunday school for many years.

He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed showing dogs. One of his greatest joys was teasing friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wilma Lea Flood and Bernice Soutee; and three brothers, Arnold, Clinton, and Roy, Jr. Conrad.

J.B. is survived by his wife, Sondra; a son and his wife, Allen and Karen Conrad; a daughter, Susie Conrad; two grandchildren, Ryan Conrad and wife Brittany, and Cortney Smith and husband Eric; six great grandchildren, Madison Conrad, Caysen Youngblood, Kimber Conrad, Kinsley Conrad, Bentley Smith, and Easton Smith; four sisters, Mary Bell Flood and husband Darrell, Carlene Flood, Connie Dean, and Bonnie Medlin; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Wright Cemetery, Clever.
