Obituary for LYNN BLADES

Lynn Blades, age of 62, Billings, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, in his home with family at his side. He was born June 27, 1955 and grew up in Billings. He was united in marriage to BJ Painter on September 8, 1996. They have made their home in Billings and attended the Sac River Cowboy Church.

Lynn was the well-known owner and operator of B & D Excavating. He was involved in many construction projects in Billings and the surrounding area. He was a member of the Springfield Benchrest Rifle Club. He enjoyed competitive shooting as well as fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Lynn is preceded in death by his son, Brian Lynn Blades, on September 15, 1999; his step-son, Jimmy Branstetter, on May 1st, 1998; his mother, Gladys Harris; maternal grandparents, who raised him, Calvin and Alice Blades; and a half-brother, Johnny Boatright. His survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, BJ; his daughter and husband, Crystal and Jason Baker; two step-daughters and their husbands, Vicky and Jack Glendenning and Sandy and Matt Walker; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 in Meadors Funeral Home, Billings Chapel. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in Lindsey Cemetery, Republic, Missouri.
