Mrs. Shirley Jeannette (Gold) Johnson, age 68, of Billings, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born on March 9, 1950 in Clever, Missouri, the daughter of Harley and Dorothy Ellen (Young) Gold.

Shirley was a member of the Hurley Baptist Church in Hurley, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Newton Hood (father of her daughter, Regina), and Joseph Lewis Johnson; her parents; three sisters, Louise Cook, Lucille Renfro, and Helen Morris; and a brother, Billy Gold.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Regina “Gina” Phillips and husband Mike; three step children, Joseph “Stan” Johnson, Steven C. Johnson and wife Jamie, and Suzanne Lucas; nine step grandchildren and their spouses, Megan and Cody Rains and their child Austin, Justin Lucas, Jennifer and Mark Mullins, Tyler Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Krystal and Scott Vance, Amara and Mike Marcoccia, Breanna and Greg Thrush, and Brian Cosmillo; 12 step great grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Denny Gold, Stanley and Becky Gold, and Charles and Betty Gold; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the Hurley Baptist Church, 5995 State Highway A, Hurley, MO 65675, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic.
