Betty Rose Keezer, age 88, of Neosho, Missouri, formerly of Billings, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018 in the Medicalodges of Neosho. She was born on November 22, 1929 in Billings, Missouri, the daughter of Walter Wilbur and Clella Armida (Green) Amsler.

A lifelong resident of Billings, Betty only left the area to advance her education, earning her Master of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English and Music, at the Kansas State College of Pittsburg (now the Pittsburg State University) in August of 1967. When Betty returned to Billings, she taught English and Music to many students in various school districts in the area.

Betty had been an active member to the First Baptist Church of Billings and was the church pianist for many years. She was also a leader for the Girl’s Youth Group.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Kay Keezer; her parents; and an infant brother, Harlen Dale Amsler.

Betty is survived by a son and his wife, Rick and Deborah Keezer; three grandchildren, James, Shelley, and Robert Keezer; four great grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah, Josiah, and Grace Keezer; a sister, Elma Jeanne and husband Jim Jeffries; many nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held for Betty at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Meadors Funeral Home, 314 N. Main Ave., Republic, MO 65738. Burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Cemetery, Billings, Missouri. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater MO Chapter, 3645 South Ave., Springfield, MO 65807.
