Obituary for ALICE MARLENE BARNETT

Alice Marlene (White) Shoemaker Barnett, age 74, of Republic, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born on October 31, 1943 in Republic, the daughter of Benjamin Willis and Nola Careful (Gaddy) White.

Marlene lived her whole life in Republic. She was a member of the Republic Assemblies of God Life 360 Church, where she was proud to be a preschool Sunday school teacher. She had loved her kids at the church as much as her own.

She was employed with Aramark Laundry Services in Springfield, Missouri. Marlene enjoyed spending time with her family, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by a son; a great granddaughter; her parents; six brothers; and one sister.

Marlene is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Reavis and her husband Darin, of Crane, Missouri, and Sandra Hutchings, of Republic; five grandchildren, Dustin Elkins, Stephen Elkins, Shelby Hutchings, Ashley Hutchings, and Kaylyn Hutchings; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018, in the Life 360 Church, Republic Campus, with Pastor Dalton Avery officiating. Burial will follow the service in Wade Chapel Cemetery, Republic. Contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Life 360 Children’s Ministry.
